'Debbie's care of my dogs on the many occasions when she has been left in sole charge of them has always been exemplary.
Her natural compassion for and interest in each individual animal is underwritten by a sound theorectical knowledge of dog behaviour and training, and she strikes just the right balance between genuine kindness and necessary discipline'.

 The Importance of Grooming

It can be difficult for dog owners to regularly groom their dogs due to their busy lifestyles, or perhaps they may feel that a groom is something that they are unable to achieve themselves. Whatever the reason, we can help you keep on top of all your dog’s grooming needs.

No matter whether your dog has a short or long coat, is single or double coated, shedding or non-shedding, it is important to regularly groom. Brushing your dog’s coat stimulates natural oils, which encourages a glossy and healthy appearance. Grooming prevents and removes matting of the coat which not only causes discomfort, but can also provide an ideal habitat for fleas, bacteria and chaffing, which could lead to infections.

 On your arrival

When you arrive at the grooming parlour, the groomer will undertake a routine health check. The health check can be hugely beneficial, in that it can highlight any lumps, weight loss, muscle wastage, abnormal discharge and cuts or abrasions that have not been previously identified. Should the groomer have any significant concerns, they may choose not to complete the groom. Any findings will be explained, and guidance will be given to how to best proceed to support your dog’s health and wellbeing.
This is also the ideal time to discuss grooming requirements, and how the finished groom will meet your requirements. As well as any concerns you may have, that may cause your dog any anxiety or distress during the groom.
At Grooming Dogs, we are focused on providing a safe, friendly and professional environment for all your dog’s grooming needs. Whether you require a puppy trim, a bath and tidy, a full groom or just their claws trimmed, we welcome any dog, of any size and any age. We understand how important your dog is to you, a valuable member of your family; we are determined to make your dog’s visit a positive one.
A delightful seven year old Cavapoochon that has recently joined me at Grooming Dogs.
The reduction in length of hair on ears, legs and belly is a common request to suit the owners lifestyle.
Mrs Beasley helped me to secure my qualification in my final practical examination.
This exceedingly happy Cavapoo required hushed voices to prevent him from getting over excited.
The older dogs require plenty of breaks throughout the groom.
